We hired Oaxaca Experience Tours for 4 days to explore archaeological sites and artisanal villages with our family (2 adults and 2 children, ages 7 and 9), and it was the highlight of our trip. Everything was incredibly convenient and well-organized. The vehicles were clean, very comfortable, and had great AC, which made the drives between sites really relaxing. Our guides were engaging, knowledgeable, and brilliant at tailoring their explanations for both the kids and the adults: - Oscar taught us to read Zapotec name glyphs and demonstrated the incredible acoustics at Monte Albán and the ball game at Atzompa - Angel was incredibly passionate; he took us to the Mitla Caves to see ancient rock paintings and went out of his way to show us bedrock mortars at the back of Yagul - Diego brought the bas reliefs at Dainzú to life and taught us how to identify Postclassic structures by the stonework The owner, Omar, was a pleasure to work with. He drove us for a day of craft activities, including wood carving and traditional pottery, which the kids absolutely loved. He was incredibly flexible, even accommodating an extra day of touring on very short notice. We hope to return to Oaxaca and will definitely be booking with them again. Highly recommended!
