This experience takes you along the southern Pacific coast of Oaxaca. The town of Puerto Escondido and its beautiful beaches will captivate you.
Our tour begins in Oaxaca city, and we will drive on the comfortable, newly opened Barranca Larga-Puerto Escondido Highway. During the drive, you will see impressive landscapes from the mountains of the Sierra Sur region as we reach Ventanilla, Puerto Escondido. We will arrive at a family restaurant where we can eat fresh seafood that is cooked on the spot and with fresh ingredients.
After enjoying some delicious seafood, we will go on the next adventure: the turtle sanctuary in Escobilla. This is a cooperative formed by local families dedicated to the conservation and protection of sea turtles. Your community guide will explain the work they do, and we will have the opportunity to release the hatchlings that have been born that day. This is a unique experience not to be missed.
At dusk we will go to the Manialtepec lagoon. In this experience we will take a boat ride in the Manialtepec lagoons where we will observe mangroves and a wide variety of birds. Later, as we watch a stunning sunset from the shore, your guide will be preparing a bonfire and later … we will enjoy some chocolates. On our return through the lagoon, we will experience an unforgettable sight: the Manialtepec lagoon is considered one of the privileged places in the world where bioluminescence can be observed.

Recommendations for the tour:

➡️ A cooler will be provided so you can buy cold drinks and bring them with you during your tour.
➡️ Light clothing. Especially in rainy season, please bring a long sleave t-shirt, mosquito repellent, comfortable shoes, sandals, cap and sunglasses.
➡️ During the turtle release getting to the sea is not necessary since it is an open beach. Swimming is not allowed.
➡️ During bioluminescence experience you will have the option of swimming in the lagoon so bring your swimsuit. There are dressing rooms in the place.
➡️ During bioluminescence experience use your life jacket while riding in the boat.
➡️ Also bring some pesos if you would like to purchase snacks or other items you would like during your tour.
